Winefest Fun is Here Again – Nov. 10
Get your friends together. Order your tickets now and save, or it’s OK to buy them at the Sutter Creek Auditorium on November 10th. Winefest is the major fundraiser of the year for AmadorArts. You’ve enjoyed this fun time for 15 years, but we’ve embellished it with some fabulous additions this year: a “celebrity entrance” to the auditorium to initiate your Winefest experience; a streamlined ticket area (you can arrive at 4:00 pm) to make it easier to start your wine tasting journey; a Mystery Wine Table; and many pleasurable enhancements to the auditorium festivities for the after-the-shops finale.
To start, once inside the auditorium, pick up a Winefest 2012 Map, wristband, and commemorative wine glass. Fill out your complimentary raffle ticket, and take a look and bid on the many enticing silent auction items. Beginning at 4:30, twenty-five shops on the three blocks of historic Main Street will be ready to each offer tastings of a different fine Amador County winery, plus appetizers.
The price of your tickets includes your return to the auditorium about 6:45 pm. You’ll be surprised at how much fun you’ll find here. Music by the Tri-Tone Subs - Barry Duncan and Joe Bellamy - will beckon you inside to indulge in decadent desserts by Taste Restaurant, Andrae’s Bakery, The Chocolate Lady, and by Ingrid Fraser Elegant Cakes and Fine Desserts. Tastings of dessert wines from Karmere, Spinetta and Sonora Winery and Port Works will also be available. The Raffle Drawing will be at 6:45 and the winners, who must claim their prize before leaving, will be posted on a board. Finalize your bids in one of the most unique silent auctions in the region, including one-of-a-kind packages, wine from over 30 wineries, art by many of Amador County’s most talented artists, special visits to Sacramento, Volcano, Tahoe, a private band performance, an elegant cocktail party for 16 in a unique home setting, theatre tickets, and much more.
New this year in the auditorium will be the Mystery Wine Table. Wines will have a retail value of at least $20, with many valued at more. The bottles will be hidden in plain paper bags with either a red or white ribbon indicating the color of the wine; you pick one, pay $20 (cash or check), and take it home. We will gladly hold your wine selection while you enjoy the evening.
Advance tickets are $25 each, or $30 the day of the event. By using a credit card through www.amadorarts.org your printed PayPal receipt will be your ticket to save time at the auditorium’s check-in. Or, there also will be Will Call or ticket purchasing in the auditorium. These locations are selling tickets now: in Sutter Creek at the Sutter Creek Wine Tasting Shop; in Ione at Clark’s Corner; in Pine Grove at Up Country Hardware; in Jackson at the Amador Chamber of Commerce, 115 Main St.; and in Plymouth, at Dr. Curry’s dental office.
